Leave your toxic life with Jacque

Empowerment is my chosen name, however Jacqueline Vargas is the government name. I am currently employed at American Airlines in the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion space driving change and impact on a daily basis. My passion outside of the 9-5 job is operating a start up personal trauma coaching program Fight to Flourish supporting individuals transition from trauma and into healthy spaces in their lives. 

After graduating with a degree in Fashion Design & Merchandising, she knew that was not for her. She went back to school to study psychology. Jacque felt a strong pull to work with and help others. She dedicated her time to helping the youth through personal trauma and educating on domestic violence. Can we please stop for a moment to applaud this women for this incredible work? Dealing with adults who have suffered personal trauma and violence is hard enough, but dealing with the youth is something we commend Jacque for. We cannot imagine what goes into this kind of work.

Jacque worked with teens who had been trafficked either by strangers, their own parents, or a boyfriend. Jacque shares her own story with her abusive relationship and how she finally chose to left. We talk about her miscarriage, how not all abuse is physical, and how she felt because of her work she couldn't tell anyone what was happening to her.

During the pandemic, like most, Jacque felt she needed a change. She redirected her focus and now works for American Airlines in the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion space where she can make an impact in a different way.

The incredible programs she created throughout her career such as Designing Her Future and Becoming Her have impacted so many young lives. The strength this women has is beyond anything and we felt so blessed to have this conversation.

Nikki’s Journey with Endometriosis

This week is very special to us! Nikki shared her story for the first time. She has battled with endometriosis for 22 years. She was misdiagnosed with IBS is early teens and spent years in pain. When Nikki finally read about another women’s symptoms she said, “that’s me! This is what I have!”Now to find a doctor to listen to her become her next challenge. After years of suffering, and multiple doctors, Nikki finally had a diagnosis. Now to find a treatment plan that would work. Nikki tried everything possible to manage her symptoms and her pain. Finally June of 2021 Nikki made the hardest decision of her life. She scheduled her surgery to remove her uterus. Please listen this week as Nikki shares what it looks like to be an endometriosis warrior. She has handled her journey with so much grace and a strength I wish I had.

This week as Krystal celebrates her 4 year anniversary since having her breast implants removed due to breast implant illness she shares her story about her journey. For years she was sick and all the doctors she saw told her all her labs were fine and therefore, she was fine. Finally, one day she saw another woman post on social media talking about her own story and Krystal knew in that moment that was what what wrong. Krystal learned the strength in advocating for yourself and to never stop fighting for someone to listen to you. This year Krystal is choosing herself by being her most authentic self. Krystal has now made it her mission to share her story in hopes of helping others learn about the seriousness of breast implant illness. Deliberate.This week we reflect on our conversation with Tish about taking intentional time for ourselves and building our own toolbox of tools we can reach for in our own lives when we need them.When we go through struggles, hard or stressful times so many of us don’t have the tools to choose an intentional or healthy way to cope. If we spend time working on ourselves and build our toolbox with the tools to cope before we need them, can be the difference between healing through journaling, meditating instead of eating all the foods and then hating ourselves or other unhealthy ways of coping.
